Treatment journey
What to expect, step by step.
Every case is different, but most patients move through the same broad stages of care. Here's what each one generally looks like.
Step 1
First consultation
We review your history, any existing scans and pathology reports together. If you're seeking a second opinion, this is where outside reports and imaging get a fresh, independent read.
See the pre-visit checklist →Step 2
Diagnosis review & planning
Staging is confirmed and a treatment plan is discussed — often after coordinating with surgical, medical oncology, imaging and pathology colleagues so the plan reflects a full team view, not just one opinion.
Step 3
Treatment
Depending on the plan this may mean radiotherapy (external beam, stereotactic, or brachytherapy), systemic therapy, or a combination. Session length and total course duration vary — we walk through the specific schedule before you begin.
Step 4
During treatment
Regular check-ins to manage side effects and adjust supportive care as needed. You're not expected to navigate this alone between visits — reach out with concerns as they come up.
Step 5
Follow-up & survivorship
After active treatment ends, follow-up continues at intervals appropriate to your diagnosis — imaging or blood work as needed, and ongoing support for managing any longer-term effects of treatment.
